Manchester City are worried about Arsenal and Chelsea in the Premier League title race and don't consider rivals Manchester United a threat, that is according to Citizens boss Manuel Pellegrini.
Arsenal are currently leading the way with Manchester City just behind them and Chelsea next in the line, though reigning champions Manchester United are struggling in their first season since Sir Alex Ferguson retired and languishing in seventh.
Pellegrini is confident the Old Trafford club will continue to battle away, but admitted the Gunners and Blues were likely to be the teams that stand in their way of regaining the title they lost last season.
“Of course the major rivals in this moment are the teams that are very near,” he is quoted as saying in the Manchester Evening News.
“Arsenal that is top are one point above us and Chelsea are one point behind. But I am absolutely sure that Manchester United will continue fighting to the end because they are used to doing it.”
With the two teams being derby rivals, Manchester City could maybe be prone to a bit of schadenfreude at the sight of Manchester United losing three games in a row for the first time in 13 years and really struggling under new boss David Moyes.
But Pellegrini is not concerning himself with the Old Trafford turmoil, though fans of the Etihad Stadium club are unlikely to thinking similarly.
“We are not worried about what happens at Manchester United,” he added.
“Maybe it's a strange season for them but we are not thinking about that. I don't think we are living better because they have troubles or problems.
"We try to do our best and we are not worried about our neighbours."
