Balotelli Snubs Minister For His Sleep

Mario Balotelli made headlines once again in Italy, after sleeping through an important government meeting, according to the Metro.
The controversial striker has previously stated his intent to enter politics once he hangs up his boots, and after being invited to attend a meeting on racism this week, you'd be forgiven for thinking he would have leapt at the chance.
However Balotelli opted to sleep instead of go to the meeting, and subsequently missed proceedings.
The former Manchester City star was invited to the government summit by the Italian Minister for Integration, Cecile Kyenge, who was disappointed he did not turn up.
Although the meeting was not labelled as a must-attend event, the minister was keen to hear Balotelli's very outspoken views on the topic up for debate.
"Balotelli said he did not come because he preferred to sleep, so we must respect his transparency,’" Kyenge said.
"For me Balotelli was a person I wanted to see, but I also wanted to meet the whole squad."
The 23-year-old has gone on record to say that he believes Italy can win the upcoming World Cup in Brazil, and is currently enjoying a healthy spell at AC Milan.
However the young forward is never far from controversy, and will need to clean up his act if he harbours any hope of going seriously into politics when his career ends.
