Bayern Munich's Dutch international winger Arjen Robben is keen on playing alongside summer acquisition Mario Gotze despite the competition for places.
The 29-year-old Dutch man has stated that he is not afraid of the competition Gotze will bring as it will be good for the team.
Bayern Munich opted to sign the 21-year-old playmaker from their arch-rivals Borussia Dortmund which has not gone down well with the Dortmund fans.
The 21-year-old German marked his debut outing with a brace in 30 minutes but Robben is not worried by the threat Gotze brings in terms of playing time.
The Dutchman spoke with German newspaper Bild and expressed his desire to play alongside the former Dortmund star man.
He said: "Gotze's arrival? You have to believe yourself and don't fear competition for places. I am really looking forward to playing alongside Mario.
"He is a great player. One of our biggest strengths last year was that the absence of a key player didn't really weaken us.
"And it can be a positive thing as well when you occasionally miss a game in a season followed by a World Cup."
Robben is well aware that it will be a very long and hard season and everyone will have a role to play.
The 29-year-old is off to a good start so far this season as he scored twice in the German Super Cup clash against Dortmund and he also scored in Bayern's Bundesliga opener against Borussia Monchengladbach.
