Arsenal Set To Offload Gervinho And Chamakh
Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger says Gervinho and Marouane Chamakh are both set to leave the club before the start of the new season.
Ivory Coast forward Gervinho, who cost Arsenal 11 million pounds when he arrived from Lille in 2011, and Chamakh, who was a free transfer from Bordeaux in 2010, have failed to shine at the Emirates.
"Gervinho is on a good way to Roma and Chamakh is on a good way to Crystal Palace," Wenger said following his side's 2-1 defeat to Galatasaray in the Emirates Cup on Sunday.
Serie A side Roma are set to pay a reported 6.9 million pounds for the services of Gervinho, while the details of Chamakh's move to Palace have yet to be agreed.
Arsenal have had two bids for Liverpool striker Luis Suarez rejected and their only signing of the off-season so far is Yaya Sanogo, a 20-year-old French forward, on a free transfer from Auxerre.
