The footballer will be celebrated on the second anniversary of his death with prayers in Lagos
The second year remembrance ceremony of Ladi Habeeb
Martins, elder brother of Obafemi Martins will hold on Friday with a
Muslim prayer session at Campos Mini Stadium, Lagos.Ladi died of heart related problems on August 9, 2011.
He once played for the Inter Milan youth team, Regiana in Italy and Partisan Belgrade of Yugoslavia.
Anthony Zulu Olayinka Oni, special assistant on football affairs to the Lagos State governor, and a key member of the Martins family, said that Ladi’s death is still painful two years after.
Some of the personalities who will attend the ceremony include Obafemi Martins, Lagos state commissioner for sports Enitan Oshodi, ex-international Waheed Akanni , Victor Ikpeba and many more.
After the religious ceremony, family and friends will proceed to selected orphanages to share gifts in his memory.
