Omeruo Out Of Malawi

Omeruo to undergo surgery, out of Malawi game

Few days after he was certified fit by Chelsea medics, Super Eagles defence stalwart Kenneth Omeruo’s career may have suffered a major set back as he will be out of action for two months due to gravity of his shoulder injury.

According to latest information from London, the player would be out for tw months which effectively rules him out of the September 2014 World Cup qualifier against Malawi in Calabar. As a result of this latest injury, the defender is to undergo surgery in a London hospital next Wednesday to correct the shoulder injury he sustained during the Nations Cup in South Africa.

Omeruo hurt his shoulder while undergoing training with Chelsea reserves on Tuesday. This latest injury is major set back to Coach Stephen Keshi’s build up to the World Cup qualifier as Omeruo is one of his reliable players in the heart of defence.

Meanwhile, Omeruo’s Chelsea future may be settled on Sunday when he is expected to meet with Jose Mourinho and other management staff. The Chelsea manager is expected to decide whether he would keep him or loan him out to another club.
