Manchester United Eyes Madrid's Modric

The Times is reporting that David Moyes has now turned his attention to Luka Modric, in an attempt to strengthen his midfield at Manchester United.
Moyes has publicly confirmed United’s interest in Barcelona’s Cesc Fabregas, and the likelihood of this deal falling through has caused him to turn his attentions elsewhere.
Manchester United are reported to have failed in an attempt to sign Spain Under-21 captain Thiago Alcantara earlier this month.
According to The Times, Manchester United are planning a £25 million bid to sign Luka Modric from Real Madrid after coming to the reluctant realisation that they are unlikely to secure any of their primary transfer targets.
United were heavily linked to a move for Modric last summer, but Spurs’ reluctance to sell to a Premier League rival, and the player’s desire to play in Spain, were major stumbling blocks to any possible deal.
With the fierce competition for places at Real Madrid, it is yet to be seen if Modric will be tempted by the idea of returning to England, just a year after leaving.
