Former Barcalona midfielder Thiago Alcantara has denied
holding talks with Manchester United and claims his heart had always
been set on Bayern.
He also said how he wished Barca had made more of an effort to
persuade him to stay and that the Catalan giants made him feel
undervalued.
"I wanted to feel valued," Thiago told Rac1.
"I wanted to leave and the club didn't do anything to make me stay.
"They knew that I wanted to leave, but nobody from the club got in contact to persuade me to stay.
"In a any case you can't dwell on the past - it's better to look to the future."
The central midfielder was signed for 20m euros earlier this month and will play alongside other new singings such as Mario Gotze and Nils Petersen next season.
Since Thiago's arrival, he has made it clear that he is happy in
Munich but has also said he will never rule out the possibility of a
return to Camp Nou, despite his poor treatment this past summer.
Thiago should be a good addition to the team, having scored five
goals and six assists in 20 appearances for Barcalona last season, and
his good passing and dribbling will also be key for the the German club
making the 22-year-old a likely top choice for Guardiola's starting
line-up in the coming season.
