Tottenham Joins Chase For Suarez If Bale Goes

Tottenham could join north London rivals Arsenal in the race to sign Premier League star Luis Suarez from Liverpool, if the club were to offload Gareth Bale to Real Madrid in a mega-money move.
According to the Metro, the Spanish giants have tabled an offer for Welsh winger Gareth Bale in the region of £85m but Spurs chairman Daniel Levy is reluctant to sell his star man to the Spanish side.
Tottenham have been targeting a striker throughout the transfer window, with Christian Benteke and Roberto Soldado just a couple of names who have been on Spurs' radar.
With Benteke penning a new contract with current club Aston Villa, this leaves Soldado Spurs' main option, with the Spain international striker also a target for Liverpool.
Suarez could be a backup option for Spurs, if they fail to land Soldado, but the north London club will be looking to far move for the Uruguayan international, if they want to compete with Arsenal who made a £40m bid for Suarez, which was rejected by Liverpool.
Suarez has also been a target for Spanish outfit Real Madrid, but with the possibility of a mega-money move for Bale, the Spanish club may not have the funds to complete a move for the Liverpool striker - also after the signings of Asier Illarramendi and Isco with a combined fee of £50m for the Spanish duo, earlier this month.
Suarez would be a brilliant signing for the Premier League club, but with attracted interest elsewhere and also with Spurs not competing in the Champions League - something that the striker wants - a move could be unlikely.
