Manchester United Target Bale & Fabregas with £100m warchest

Manchester United linked with Gareth Bale & Cesc Fabregas as David Moyes targets ‘top end’ players

Manchester United are being linked with a sensational £100million double deal for Gareth Bale and Cesc Fabregas.

The Times reports that new manager David Moyes is ready to break the bank for ‘top end’ players, as the Scot looks to make his mark on the Red Devils side after replacing Sir Alex Ferguson at the helm.
Both Bale and Fabregas are likely to cost in excess of £30.75million, the Manchester United record transfer fee, but Moyes admits the financial landscape has changed in football and such figures have to be spent to beat the likes of PSG to players.
“I think PSG and Monaco have changed the way it’s looked [at]. But I certainly think if you’re a player and you look out of the window and see Old Trafford — if you’ve really got any ambitions about being a footballer, and you’re a top end one — then I think you’ll want to play for Manchester United,” said Moyes in a packed press conference.
The paper claims United have already tabled a bid for Fabregas, although a deal is far from straightforward following Thiago Alcantara’s sale and Tito Vilanova’s exit from the Nou Camp.
Bale, meanwhile, has been courted by Real Madrid this summer, with Andre Villas-Boas fighting to keep the Spurs star at White Hart Lane.
The Welshman’s form last season led to multiple individual honours, but with Tottenham Hotspur failing to finish in the top four, speculation linking the player to Champions League clubs was guaranteed to come.
United, who won the Premier League title last season, have history and silverware to offer the former Saints starlet, and now appear willing to spend big to bring the player to Old Trafford.
