Nigeria's Ezekiel Shines In Europa League

Nigeria striker, Imoh Ezekiel came off the bench to help Standard Liege beat KR Reykjavík of Iceland 3-1 on Thursday night to qualifying with a 6-2 aggregate for the third qualifying round of the Uefa Europa League.
He scored in the 68th and 73rd minutes after coming on for Michy Batshuayi towards the end of the the first half.
Another Nigeria striker, Ahmed Abdultaofik was not on target, but helped his club, Ventspils beat Jeunesse d'Esch 4-1 to progress to the next round 5-1 overall.
Standard meet Greek side, Xanthi, in the third qualifying round, while Ventpils come up against Maccabi Haifa. The first leg matches would be played next Wednesday.
It was the end of the road for John Chibuike's Rosenborg, who could only draw 1-1 away to St. Johnstone to crash out 1-2 on aggregate.
Chibuike could not do much after coming on as a 75th minute substitute for Daniel Berntsen.
Former Nigeria youth international, Akeem Latifu will also play no further part in the competition as his club, Hodd got knocked out by Aktobe 2-1 on aggregate.
Latifu did not travel for the crucial second leg tie in Kazakhstan on Thursday, which they lost 0-2, due to visa hitches.
