Barcelona goalkeeper Victor Valdes has stated his desire to win one last Champions League title before he exits the club next summer.
31-year-old Valdes, whose current deal expires in June 2014, has refused to sign a contract extension with the Catalan giants and has made no secret of his desire to move on.
Valdes told AS: "My decision is irreversible. What I said at the time, I stand by and there is nothing more to add. I'd like to leave after lifting another European Cup, that would be a very nice end to this cycle."
Valdes has spent his whole career at the Camp Nou, making over 500 appearences in 12 years. The club have been keen to negotiate with the player, but it appears he is keen to seek a different challenge in new surroundings.
Barcelona, who are now under the management of Argentine Gerardo Martino following the unfortunate resignation of Tito Vilanova, won European football's most coveted prize for the fourth time in 2011, recording a comfortable 3-1 victory over Manchester United at Wembley.
And with their already stellar squad boosted by the recent £50 million acquisition of Brazilian starlet Neymar, they will surely be again considered among the favourites to win the competition once more.
They are, however, likely to face stiff opposition once again from 2013 winners Bayern Munich, who are now managed by former Barcelona player and manager Pep Guardiola.
