Omeruo May Not Be In Mourinho's Plan

The Super Eagles defender was expected to make a strong statement to getting a squad number for the 2013/14 season at Stamford Bridge
Chelsea have left out Kenneth Omeruo from the squad they took to the United States of America as they begin the last leg of pre-season training.

Omeruo had been expected to make the squad after doing well for Nigeria at the Africa Cup of Nations and at the Confederations Cup but it seems that he is not going to be part of Jose Mourinho's plans - at least for the forthcoming season.

The likes of Nathaniel Chalobah, Josh McEachran, Lucas Piazon have been farmed out on loan and Mourinho mentioned Chalobah specifically that this would be his last loan stint but the portuguese has been silent on Omeruo, which may mean he does not figure in the plans for the new season.

Omeruo could have replaced Tomas Kalas, who had to pull out of the USA tour because of injury but Mourinho has chosen not to replace the 20-year-old Czech Republic defender.

Omeruo has spent two seasons on loan at ADO Den Haag in Holland and may be best advised to tow that same route again.
