Nigerian midfielder, Lukman Haruna is flavour of the month in
Ukraine after scoring an outrageous goal for Dynamo Kiev against
Sevastopol in the Ukrainian Premier League on Sunday.
Haruna’s jaw-dropping effort in the 14th minute represented Dynamo
Kiev’s first goal in the 2-0 win against the visitors at the Valeri
Lobanovsky, Kiev as the competition entered matchday three.
The 22-year-old received a pass from the right from French teammate, Benoit Tremoulinas over 35 yards away from goal.
With little danger lurking, Haruna let fly a right-footed pile
driver that nestled in the top left hand corner to the astonishment of
all.
Diumerci Mbokani added a second for the home side five minutes after
the break to complete a comfortable victory but it was Haruna’s goal
that dominated the front and back pages after the game.
Sunday’s game against Sevastopol represented his third start for
Dynamo Kiev in as many matches and he has now repaid the faith shown in
him by the club’s trainer, Oleh Blokhin.
Haruna’s compatriot, Brown Ideye came on as a second half substitute for Mbokani who was hooked after 66 minutes.
It was Ideye’s first league appearance of the season for Dynamo Kiev
after being left on the substitute’s bench in the club’s first two
games of the season against Volyn and Hoverla.
