Fernabahce Tracks Emenike

Turkish club, Fenerbahce, has revealed that Super Eagles striker, Emmanuel Emenike, is on their wish list of strikeing options in this summer’s transfer window. The Istanbul-based club has stated that they have narrowed their options of summer purchases down to Emenike or Benfica’s Paraguayan striker, Oscar Cardozo.
Fener have also claimed that a deal to bring either of the duo will be struck as early as this week. A senior official of Fenerbahce, Talat Yilmaz revealed that negotiations in that regard have already commenced.

"We have already begun negotiations with the agents of Emenike and Cardozo. We are speaking to both of them. We are in negotiations with both and we hope to get one of (the strikers this week),” Talat told EuroSport.

Emenike is no stranger to Turkish Football as he played for Super Lig club, Karabukspor between 2009 and 2011 where he netted 30 goals in 50 appearances for the club.

He signed for Fenerbahce in 2011 but did not play a single game for the club before proceeding to Russia to join his present side, Spartak Moscow.

Emenike has been in great form this season, scoring two goals in the three-week old 2013/14 Russia Premier League season for Spartak Moscow.

The 26-year-old finished as top scorer at the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations in South Africa with four goals.

Emenike has scored six goals in 15 appearances for Nigeria.
