Turkish club, Fenerbahce, has revealed that
Super Eagles striker, Emmanuel Emenike, is on their wish list of
strikeing options in this summer’s transfer window. The Istanbul-based
club has stated that they have narrowed their options of summer
purchases down to Emenike or Benfica’s Paraguayan striker, Oscar
Cardozo.
Fener have also claimed that a deal to bring either of
the duo will be struck as early as this week. A senior official of
Fenerbahce, Talat Yilmaz revealed that negotiations in that regard have
already commenced.
"We have already begun negotiations with the
agents of Emenike and Cardozo. We are speaking to both of them. We are
in negotiations with both and we hope to get one of (the strikers this
week),” Talat told EuroSport.
Emenike is no stranger to Turkish
Football as he played for Super Lig club, Karabukspor between 2009 and
2011 where he netted 30 goals in 50 appearances for the club.
He
signed for Fenerbahce in 2011 but did not play a single game for the
club before proceeding to Russia to join his present side, Spartak
Moscow.
Emenike has been in great form this season, scoring two
goals in the three-week old 2013/14 Russia Premier League season for
Spartak Moscow.
The 26-year-old finished as top scorer at the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations in South Africa with four goals.
Emenike has scored six goals in 15 appearances for Nigeria.
