Beckham & Ronaldo At Real Madrid Training
Real Madrid's pre-season tour of the United States started with a bang after a surprise visit from David Beckham to the club's Los Angeles training camp, where he met up with some of his old team-mates and posed for a photo with Cristiano Ronaldo.
The 38-year-old arrived at the UCLA campus to watch his former Paris Saint-Germain manager Carlo Ancelotti put his new players through their paces during an open training session, as the Spanish club continue their preparations for the new campaign with a four-stop tour of North America.
Ancelotti swapped Parc des Princes for the Santiago Bernabeu earlier this summer just weeks after Beckham announced his retirement from professional football, having helped PSG to their first Ligue 1 title in 19 years.
After training, Beckham and Ronaldo had pictures taken together before proceeding to sign shirts and footballs for a number of lucky Real Madrid fans, who came down to the university to see their favourite stars - past and present - in action.
It's the fourth consecutive summer that Real Madrid have toured America, with this year's trip taking in visits to Phoenix, Miami and Saint Louis.
First up, the Galacticos face a match against another of Beckham's former clubs, LA Galaxy, in the Guinness International Champions Cup in Arizona on Friday, before returning to Los Angeles to play either Everton or Juventus in the next phase of the tournament.
Real Madrid returned to training two weeks ago, and began their pre-season schedule in England with a resounding 6-0 victory over Championship outfit Bournemouth, with Ronaldo on the scoresheet twice as he looks to rediscover the form that saw a return of 55 goals in 55 matches in all competitions last season.
