West Ham are upping their pursuit of former Chelsea striker Salomon Kalou, the Daily Mail reports.
The Ivorian forward currently plays for French side Lille, where has has plied his trade since being released by Chelsea in 2012.
Kalou netted 14 goals over the course of 28 Ligue 1 matches last season, and West Ham manager Sam Allardyce is seemingly keen to bring him to Upton Park as he looks to shake the 'long-ball' notion currently attached to the Hammers.
The bid West Ham have reportedly proposed for the ex-Chelsea man stands at around £2.65 million, which is hardly a princely price to pay for someone with Kalou's experience.
Kalou spent a total of six-years during his first tenure in English football, and won the Premier League, Champions League and the FA Cup, the latter four times.
Allardyce has admitted that the club are interested by the potential acquisition: "We understand the player wants to come back and play in England, whether that is with us or with whoever, we are having a look at it.
"Obviously from his record at Chelsea, and his goalscoring record this season in France, and his age, he is very appealing to us."
It is understood that 'Big Sam' is in the market for a striker who will complement Andy Carroll, after the England international's switch from Liverpool earlier this summer.
